Temple Mantras

हरी ॐ , हरी ॐ, हरी ॐ

Sprinkle water on all Pooja Materials as follows:

 अपवित्रः पवित्रो वा सर्वावस्थां गतोऽपि वा 
यः स्मरेत्पुण्डरीकाक्षं  बाह्याभ्यन्तरः शुचिः 
Om Apavitrah Pavitro Vaa Sarva-Avasthaam Gato-[A]pi Vaa |
Yah Smaret-Punnddariikaakssam Sa Baahya-Abhyantarah Shucih ||
Meaning:
1: Om, if one is Apavitra (Impure) or Pavitra (Pure), or even in all other conditions, …
2: … He who remembers Pundarikaksha (Another name of Sri Vishnu, literally meaning with Lotus-like Eyes), He becomes Pure outwardly as well as inwardly.

2. Achman Mantras

Receive water with right hand (total of 5 times) and say:

  • ‘Om Keshavaay Namah’ and drink the water
  • ‘Om Madhavaya Namah’ and drink the water.
  • ‘Om Narayana Namah’ and drink the water.
  • ‘Om Harikeshaya Namah’. Clean your lips.
  • ‘Om Govindaaya Namah’. Clean your hands.

3. अथांग स्पर्श

(The aspirant now touches his body-limbs with the sacrificial water, praying that these remain strong, and fulfill their functions.)

ओं वाङमऽआस्येऽस्तु१॥
इसस मन्त्र से मुख.
Om vaang ma aasye ‘stu.…………….(lips)
ओं नसोर्मे प्राणोऽस्तु॥२॥
इस मन्त्र से नासिका के दोनुं छिद्र
Om nasor me praano ‘stu.……………(nostrils)
ओं अक्ष्णोर्में चत्क्षुरस्तु॥३॥
इस मन्त्र से दोनों आंखें
Om akshnor me chakshur astu.………..(eyes)
ओं कर्णयोर्मे श्रोत्रमस्तु॥४॥
इस मन्त्र से दोनों कान
On karna-yor me shro-tam astu.………(ears)
ओं बाहोर्मे बलमस्तु॥५॥
इस मन्त्र से दोनों बाहु
Om baah-wor me balam astu…………..(arms)
ओं ऊर्वोमऽओजोस्तु॥६॥
इस मन्त्र से दोनों जंघा, और..
Om oor-wor ma ojo ‘stu……………..(thighs)
ओं अरिष्टानि मेऽङाग्नि तनूस्तन्वा मे सह सन्तु॥उ॥ Om arish-taani me’ngaani
tanoos tanwaa me saha santu.

4. Light Diya offer flowers to deities

दीपज्योतिः परब्रह्म दीपज्योतिर्जनार्दनः
दीपो हरतु मे पापं दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तुते
Diipa-Jyotih Para-Brahma Diipa-Jyotir-Janaardanah |
Diipo Haratu Me Paapam Diipa-Jyotir-Namostute ||

Meaning:
a) (Salutations to the Light of the Lamp) The Light of the Lamp represents the Supreme Brahman, the Light of the Lamp represents Janardhana (Sri Vishnu),
b) Let the Light of the Lamp Remove My Sins; Salutations to the Light of the Lamp.

5. Salutations to Light

शुभं करोति कल्याणमारोग्यं धनसंपदा
शत्रुबुद्धिविनाशाय दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तुते
Shubham Karoti Kalyaannam-Aarogyam Dhana-Sampadaa |
Shatru-Buddhi-Vinaashaaya Diipa-Jyotir-Namostute ||

Meaning:
a) (Salutations to the Light of the Lamp) Which Brings Auspiciousness, Health and Prosperity,
b) Which Destroys Inimical Feelings; Salutations to the Light of the Lamp.

6. Do Namskar of Brahman

नमो ब्रह्मण्य देवाय गोब्राह्मण हिताय
जगत् हिताय कृष्णाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः
Namo Brahmannya Devaaya Go-Braahmanna Hitaaya Ca |
Jagat Hitaaya Krssnnaaya Govindaaya Namo Namah ||

Meaning:
a) Salutations to the Lord Who is of the Nature of Supreme Consciousness, and the Friend and Benefactor of the Cows and the Brahmins,
b) Salutations to the Lord Who is the Friend and Benefactor of the Whole World; Salutations to Sri Krishna; Salutations to Sri Govinda; Salutations, Salutations to Him again and again.

7. Apply Chandanam

Om Chand-nantu Mahotpunyam, pavitram paap-nasham|
Aapadh harthaye nityam, Lakshmi stish-titu sarvadah.

8. FastencRakshah Bandhan to Purohit

येन बद्धो बलि रजा दानवेन्द्रो महाबल
तें तवाम अभिबध्नामी रक्ष माचल्माचल
